Floral abstract art exhibition at NAFAS Floral Art & Design Show

I will be exhibiting a number of floral and botanical abstract paintings as part of this year’s NAFAS 60th Anniversary. The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies are holding three days of events and demonstrations at The Business Design Centre in Islington, London from 8-10 August, followed by a gala dinner at Grosvenor House Hotel on 10 August.

I have been invited to exhibit and sell some of my floral abstract paintings, and will be donating one as a prize in their charity raffle.

My motivation as an artist is to portray the beauty in the seen and unseen world around us, and for me flowers are one of natures most beautiful creations.

I have always loved flowers and am forever inspired by their detail, shape and colour. I used to take macro photographs many years ago preferring the detail of an up close almost distorted image - I found beauty in the magnified detail rather than the whole picture. I translate this passion now through my art by painting abstract florals and botanicals.

Live Art Saturday, Elizabeth James Gallery, London, 13 April from 1-4pm

I have been invited to paint live in Elizabeth James Gallery, South Norwood in London on Saturday 13 April.

The purpose of the event to make art accessible, to let people see artists in practise, understand the process of painting/creating and chat about what inspires them etc. Galleries can be intimidating places for various reasons, however this informal way of presenting art and artists is as much about engaging people with art, as it is about selling affordable art.

The event is free for anyone who wants to pop along between 1pm and 4pm.
