Art has the power to transform an interior, bringing colour, depth and individuality to a space. My latest interior design commission involved creating ten original paintings for four newly renovated apartments, with each piece developed around a colour-led brief.
As a Scottish contemporary artist based in Edinburgh, I work with colour, texture and movement to create original abstract paintings that bring character and atmosphere to an interior.
Creating Art for Interior Spaces
The brief centred on colour, allowing me the creative freedom to explore different compositions while responding to the overall interior scheme.
Working on a collection of ten paintings presented an opportunity to explore how individual artworks can sit together within a wider design concept. Each painting has its own identity, while colour provides a visual connection across the collection.
My approach combines instinctive mark-making with a considered use of colour and texture, creating contemporary abstract art that feels expressive yet works within a carefully designed space.
Original Artwork for Interior Designers and Private Clients
I believe original art should do more than complement a room. It should contribute to how a space feels, adding personality, energy and a distinctive voice.
Commissions offer interior designers, property developers and private clients the opportunity to bring original contemporary artwork into a project, with paintings developed in response to a particular brief, colour palette or interior.
From individual statement pieces to collections, I enjoy collaborating with clients to create artwork that feels considered, individual and enduring.
Commissioning Contemporary Art
I work with private clients, interior designers and businesses to create original abstract paintings and bespoke art commissions for residential and commercial interiors.
If you are an interior designer looking for original artwork for a project, or a collector interested in commissioning a painting for your home, I would love to hear from you.
