Celestial Gateway sits midway between abstraction and symbolism.
A luminous central ‘portal’ is surrounded by sweeping colour, gestural marks and bursts of vivid pink, turquoise, blue and gold - creating a threshold, a point where one state gives way to another, without knowing what lies beyond.
Developed intuitively, allowing the painting to find its own rhythm, the central form creates a sense of focus, drawing you into the work and then outward and through.
The idea of a gateway is deliberately open - it might represent transition, possibility, perspective or simply the experience of standing before something not yet known.
