Energy Scape #2 continues the exploration of our inner world as an emotional experience.
Colour, texture and spontaneous marks overlap to create a sense of movement across the surface. Layers appear to recede and emerge again, suggesting shifting emotions, changing thoughts and the constantly moving relationship between our physical and emotional self.
The painting was created intuitively, and developed through successive layers rather than from a fixed image. There is a tension between structure and spontaneity - some marks feel almost geological, grounding us, while others move freely across the surface.
The result is an imagined space - somewhere familiar enough to recognise, but open enough for the viewer to create their own.
