In Search of Eden #2 continues the exploration of an imagined paradise - not as a destination, but as an idea or an emotional state of bliss.

The painting considers our desire to find beauty, belonging and a sense of possibility within an increasingly complex world. Layers of colour, texture and spontaneous mark-making create a ‘landscape’ that feels recognisable without being tied to a specific place.

As with the wider series, this painting was developed intuitively. Marks and texture were added, obscured and rediscovered, allowing the painting to evolve rather than follow a predetermined path or outcome.

There is no single Eden represented here. Instead, I hope it leaves space for the viewer to consider their own version of Eden - a place, a memory, a relationship or simply a feeling of being exactly where they are meant to be.
